Today we would like to learn something about the choleric temperament and his choice of vocation or career.Because temperaments are inborn traits and influences everything you do;it would be better to learn about your temperament and its influence on the kind of career path you choose in order to have a more fulfilling life.
Who are the Cholerics?
Cholerics are usallay the self disciplined individual with a strong tendency toward self determination. He is very confident in his own ability and very aggressive  when he sets his mind to do something,he never gives up and don't care running over people or offending them if it needs to be done.

What is the Career Potential of the Choleric?

  • Cholerics' normally excel in any profession that requires leadership, motivation, and productivity provided it does not require too much attention to details and analytical planning. He would likely not participate in committee meetings and long-range planning as such things bore him, because he believes in doing.
  • Most Entrepreneurs are cholerics: They formulate their ideas and are venturesome enough to launch out in new directions. One smart thing about them is that;they don't limit themselves to their own ideas either, but sometimes overhear a creative idea from someone who is not sufficiently adventurous to initiate a new business or project.
  • Cholerics are natural motivator of other people. They are extremely goal-conscious,and can inspire others to envision his goals.Because of this, his associates may find themselves to be  more productive by following his lead. One of the primary weakness of a choleric as a leader is that, he is hard to please and tends to roughshod over people.Choleric rarely gives approval and encouragement as they believe this will lead to complacency.
Normally a choleric would be best suited in vocations or careers like: teaching, human capital development ,motivation and good preachers. His strong leadership abilities makes him perform well in any vocation he chooses. So he is not normally restricted. However, the kind of vocation he chooses should not be boring and so much filled with details.

CAREER FRUSTRATION | How Your Temperament influences Your Vocation

Next to lack of employment, the worst thing that can happen to a person is to have the wrong job.
Have you ever thought of what influences the choice of your vocation or career? Or you rush into any available job because you need to make a living? It is incredible to know how many people despise their work, yet each passing day; they reluctantly return to the same desk and do the same work that do not bring them the needed satisfaction.
In this post,i am determined to bring to bare how your temperament can influence the career path you take. One of the ways to avoid career frustration,or feeling like a square peg in a round hole, is to know your temperament and its natural vocational possibilities. This would enable you find work or a profession that allows you to express your natural temperament characteristics.
I would be sharing with you the four basic temperaments: Sanguine,Choleric, Phlegmatic and Melancholic and their vocational or career aptitude, culled from the book "Why you act the way you do" by Tim LaHaye a master when it comes to temperament issues.Tim  LaHaye is also the author of "The spirit controlled Temperament"

Well, if you do not know what temperament you belong to,please make sure you read my post on the basic temperaments under the Label section of my blog.
The Sanguine is usually the warm, buoyant, lively and enjoying person.Even before he enters a room, you can hear him miles away and immediately he enters the room he lifts up the spirit of everyone in that room, with his endless conversation.Sanguines' are usually classified as the "Talkative" or "Noisy" type.
  • Sanguines' usually make Excellent sales men,as they are very convincing. They can even sell ice to the Eskimos or rubber crutches to people who aren't crippled. They are the most friendly of people and fit well in social gatherings. So a sanguine should normally venture into sales and marketing vocation.
  • They are outstanding masters of ceremonies, auctioners, and comedians: IF you ever want to organize an event make sure you pick a sanguine as the MC,and the show would never end.One such great sanguine i can identify in Ghanaian Entertainment industry would be Funny Face of "Chorkor Trotro" fame and the well know Agya koo. These great entertainers can make a story out of nothing and they would keep you spell bound.
  • In the area of helping people, sanguines excel as hospital workers.Doctors and Nurses who are sanguines always have the best bedside manner. You may be on the verge of death,as white as the sheet you are lying on when he bubbles into the room, but before he leaves,he will lift your spirits by his natural charm.
In conclusion, I believe no matter what work the sanguine enters,it should always give him extensive exposure to people, since his chief contribution in life lies in making other people happy.
Certainly, we all need a smile on our faces!

The challenge faced by many young people is how to set smart goals. They have a clue of what they want to do with their life;however, they are get lost when they begin implementing those ideas they have jottted down.A Goal may be defined as the desired results a person wants to achieve. It involves committing time and effort in asking yourself key issues of life.
Today ,i would be sharing with you how to set smart goals so you have a more focused life.Hope this article i took from student branding would help.

  •  Goals should be SPECIFIC.  I want a job when I graduate is too general. Drill down further to identify more specific goals, revisiting your assessment and exploration. An example of a better goal is, “I want a job with a Big 4 accounting firm, working in audit and living in Chicago.”

  • Goals should be MEASURABLE. It is important to identify clear objectives so you can measure progress towards your goals I will secure an internship in audit with a Big 4 accounting firmis a good goal, but how will you get there? Setting up smaller, measurable goals is the answer. I will attend five campus recruiting events sponsored by Big 4 accounting firmsis measurable, as you will know you have reached your goal upon attending five events.
  • Goals should be ATTAINABLE. Are your goals reasonable? Are you willing and able to accomplish your goals? It is important to address these questions when goal setting so you don’t set yourself up for failure.
  • Goals should be RELEVANT/REALISTIC. Your goals should be related to the direction you want your career to take. It is important that your short-term and long-term goals are in sync.
  • Goals should be TIMELY. Setting deadlines for achievement of goals will keep you on track. What do you want to achieve and when do you want to achieve it? Seeing the finish line, so to speak, will motivate you to work towards completion of your goals.
In addition to following the S.M.A.R.T. method when goal setting, it is important to be flexible. Life happens, career changes happen, and priorities change. As such, your goals may change (and that is okay).
 What Next?
Let me know some of the goals you have set for yourself so i can keep you on track. Thanks for your time.

Do you have A VISION? Are you struggling to understand what your vision in life is? Worry no more!
Life has a way of pushing all of us around but a clear vision fulfills the purpose of life.Without a clear vision of life, everything around seems blur.I intend sharing with you some tips on vision creation and development so you can live ,learn, love and leave a legacy that outlives you.

Vision is a documented, detailed, distinct , and unique view of what you want to accomplish in life.It is the act or power of anticipating that which will or may come to be.Vision is what you see, and what you see is what you get, it can also be said to be the product of  a documented purpose.

The most important aspect of  every vision is the documentation and development of the vision. The Bible recommends us to write the vision and make it plain upon tablets .Vision is never a finished product so it must be documented and reviewed on a daily basis.
Developing and documentation of your vision is a process of learning about yourself ,and what you would love to do with the life God has gifted you with.It involves a general overview of how you want life to be for you and taking the necessary steps in fulfilling it.Sometimes the vision becomes blur and seems like impossible, this is however a strong indication that you need to take the necessary steps if you want the vision to materialize.I suggest writing the broader picture first- an over view of what you want life to be for you and then gradually and thoughtfully filling in the details.
Joining the dots would give you a clear picture of the vision. So first get the broader picture and put in the details.
Every vision should be
  • Caputered: Grab hold of the vision you have ,get a clear view of the vision this then becomes more of a goal
  • Simplified: The vision should not be too broad so that you don’t lose focus, try simplifying the vision you have
  • Documented:Writing the vision would always give you the momentum to achieve them, seeing the vision each day reminds you of the effort to put in ,to achieving it
  • Communicated: Say the vision to yourself, recite it each day till it reside in your subconscious mind.
  • Evaluated and Create Priorities; As you proceed in life , the vision becomes more precise and so it needs to evaluated to see what can be added or removed from it.

Effective networking is key in enhancing a strong relationship in every endeavor. Throughout every cycle of life, you would need to know how to create and maintain a network in order to survive in this competitive environment.Almost everyday,we come across influential people who would be willing to give us that helping hand to get to our destination. How then do we take advantage of that opportunity?

Who do You know?
Well, if you do not know any one you should begin to take steps in getting to know people of influence.
This post is designed to share with you tips on effective networking, especially for unemployed graduates in Ghana, who still can't find a decent job after years of studying in the university.Hope at the end of this post you would learn  how to sell yourself at the least opportunity. Don't forget to comment on the post.It keeps me going.
Tips on Effective Networking.

Encourage people to want to talk with you. If the other person seems uncomfortable, you can break the ice, the royal rod to a person’s heart is to talk about things he or she treasures most(That person will be entirely grateful). Besides reinforcing your current connections, you should always want to meet new people. Make it easy for these people to meet you.
Keep Upbeat: See problems as opportunities. You see, one thing about opportunities is that it is always disguised as hard work, so most people do not recognize them. But remember, if everyone could do it, everyone would have been doing it, but this is never the case. This newest problem could be the entry into your next fortune. Besides, nobody likes a downer.
Do Not Judge Anyone:
You do not know who you are meeting. This person might be the person who can sell you something you really need, buy something from you, teach you something, or empower you by learning from you. This person might connect you to someone who becomes important to you later. As Robert Allen said,” Sometimes you need someone to show you the way.”
I love this Chinese Proverb,” A single conversation with a wise man is worth a month’s study of books
  • Prepare and Present Your elevator speech.
When ever you meet someone or you are asked to speak in an occasion, use that opportunity to sell your self. The elevator speech is a succinct description of who you are, what you do, and how you do it differently. If you are climbing up an elevator and you happen to meet the CEO of a reputable company and you have 20 seconds to sell your self to him, what would you say? This then becomes your elevator speech.

What do you Think?
Hey, if you think you have other tips that could help in effective networking, why not share it with us.Drop me a comment, and let's keep going.
