The Sanguine- Who is He?

Why do you act the way you do?  Why do you always get into trouble with your friends and family? Why do you always complain about your boss? Most people find themselves in wrong relationships and careers because they struggle to identify their personality type. When we are able to identify who we really are and our temperamental tendencies, we become better in regulating ourselves, this allows us to develop self-control and self-discipline and avoid unnecessary pitfalls within our lives.
In this post, I intend sharing with you some of the major personality types, so that you can develop your strength as well as maximizing weaknesses that comes with that temperament type.
Let’s begin with the Sanguine
sanguine temperament
Sanguines are the popular, talkative and the “centre of attention ” at all times, no matter the setting. At a party, Sanguines are the loud type making funny comments and telling funny stories all over, typically the ones to  give life to the party, because they love to talk. They attract people with their magnetism and exude charisma; a  sanguine personality is always affectionate, loving, cheerful, optimistic  and hopeful. To easily spot a sanguine; look for the one that easily dominates conversation or talk too much about their selves. And watch out, in their enthusiasm, they may exaggerate the truth, waste time and definitely forget obligations.
If you find yourself dating a sanguine, what they want to hear from you is how attractive they are, how you like their hair, make-up, clothes, dangling earrings or anything else they have put on.
Some down sides of sanguine are; they are not normally goal oriented, waste time and forget obligations.Sanguines are frequently not disciplined, and this is, of course, very difficult for the third personality type called melancholy to understand. Sanguines wear their "heart on their sleeve", but they very easily “forgive and forget”. As quickly as a Sanguine will discover a new hobby or pursuit, that love of it can be lost when it ceases to be engaging or fun.

What Next?
Are you a Sanguine? Tell me some of your weaknesses and strengths; in my next post I talk about the Choleric temperament

CHOLERICs CAREER POTENTIALS

Today we would like to learn something about the choleric temperament and his choice of vocation or career.Because temperaments are inborn traits and influences everything you do;it would be better to learn about your temperament and its influence on the kind of career path you choose in order to have a more fulfilling life.
Who are the Cholerics?
Cholerics are usallay the self disciplined individual with a strong tendency toward self determination. He is very confident in his own ability and very aggressive  when he sets his mind to do something,he never gives up and don't care running over people or offending them if it needs to be done.

What is the Career Potential of the Choleric?

  • Cholerics' normally excel in any profession that requires leadership, motivation, and productivity provided it does not require too much attention to details and analytical planning. He would likely not participate in committee meetings and long-range planning as such things bore him, because he believes in doing.
  • Most Entrepreneurs are cholerics: They formulate their ideas and are venturesome enough to launch out in new directions. One smart thing about them is that;they don't limit themselves to their own ideas either, but sometimes overhear a creative idea from someone who is not sufficiently adventurous to initiate a new business or project.
  • Cholerics are natural motivator of other people. They are extremely goal-conscious,and can inspire others to envision his goals.Because of this, his associates may find themselves to be  more productive by following his lead. One of the primary weakness of a choleric as a leader is that, he is hard to please and tends to roughshod over people.Choleric rarely gives approval and encouragement as they believe this will lead to complacency.
Normally a choleric would be best suited in vocations or careers like: teaching, human capital development ,motivation and good preachers. His strong leadership abilities makes him perform well in any vocation he chooses. So he is not normally restricted. However, the kind of vocation he chooses should not be boring and so much filled with details.

CAREER FRUSTRATION | How Your Temperament influences Your Vocation

Next to lack of employment, the worst thing that can happen to a person is to have the wrong job.
Have you ever thought of what influences the choice of your vocation or career? Or you rush into any available job because you need to make a living? It is incredible to know how many people despise their work, yet each passing day; they reluctantly return to the same desk and do the same work that do not bring them the needed satisfaction.
In this post,i am determined to bring to bare how your temperament can influence the career path you take. One of the ways to avoid career frustration,or feeling like a square peg in a round hole, is to know your temperament and its natural vocational possibilities. This would enable you find work or a profession that allows you to express your natural temperament characteristics.
I would be sharing with you the four basic temperaments: Sanguine,Choleric, Phlegmatic and Melancholic and their vocational or career aptitude, culled from the book "Why you act the way you do" by Tim LaHaye a master when it comes to temperament issues.Tim  LaHaye is also the author of "The spirit controlled Temperament"

The SANGUINE"s CAREER APTITUDE
Well, if you do not know what temperament you belong to,please make sure you read my post on the basic temperaments under the Label section of my blog.
The Sanguine is usually the warm, buoyant, lively and enjoying person.Even before he enters a room, you can hear him miles away and immediately he enters the room he lifts up the spirit of everyone in that room, with his endless conversation.Sanguines' are usually classified as the "Talkative" or "Noisy" type.
  • Sanguines' usually make Excellent sales men,as they are very convincing. They can even sell ice to the Eskimos or rubber crutches to people who aren't crippled. They are the most friendly of people and fit well in social gatherings. So a sanguine should normally venture into sales and marketing vocation.
  • They are outstanding masters of ceremonies, auctioners, and comedians: IF you ever want to organize an event make sure you pick a sanguine as the MC,and the show would never end.One such great sanguine i can identify in Ghanaian Entertainment industry would be Funny Face of "Chorkor Trotro" fame and the well know Agya koo. These great entertainers can make a story out of nothing and they would keep you spell bound.
  • In the area of helping people, sanguines excel as hospital workers.Doctors and Nurses who are sanguines always have the best bedside manner. You may be on the verge of death,as white as the sheet you are lying on when he bubbles into the room, but before he leaves,he will lift your spirits by his natural charm.
In conclusion, I believe no matter what work the sanguine enters,it should always give him extensive exposure to people, since his chief contribution in life lies in making other people happy.
Certainly, we all need a smile on our faces!

Personal Development: The Melancholic Temperament

Do you know that ,you temperament can influence the kind of job you could do?
And do you really know your temperament as an individual or you still doing the guess work? Well today, i was talking to a friend who wanted to take up a job as a sales person which is predominantly taking over by the sanguine temperament, so we ended up discussing the major temperaments and their strength and weakness of those temperaments. You can check my other postings on the distinction between character ,personality and temperaments.
Let's get going and deal with the melancholic temperament.
Melancholy,I would tell you about this temperament in a few minutes. Are you ready
What is the Melancholic temperament?
Melancholy is often the known as the “black” or “dark” temperament.
Actually he is the richest of all the temperaments, for he is an analytical, self sacrificing, gifted, perfectionist type, with a very sensitive emotional nature. No one gets more enjoyment from the fine arts than the Melancholy. Do you enjoy the fine arts-painting, dancing , sketching? Then you may be a melancholy
Melancholy is prone to be introvert by nature, but since his feelings predominate ,he is given over a variety of moods.Sometimes his mood will lift him to heights of ecstasy that cause him to act more extrovertish. However, at other times he will be gloomy and depressed; during these periods he is withdrawn and can be quite antagonistic.
Does a Melancholy easily make Friends?
Melancholy is a very faithful friend, but ,unlike the Sanguine, he does not make friends easily, he will not push himself forward to meet people but lets people come to him. He most a time with drawn when he or she attends any occasion and would not take the step in meeting you, Does these describe you?
If yes, What Carriers would be best for you?
Careers of Melancholy
Most of the world’s greatest   -composers,artists,musicians,inventors,philosophers,theoreticians,theologians,scientists ,and dedicated educators have been predominantly Melancholies.
One vocation that would attract the melancholy, surprisingly enough ,is acting, even though we tend to identify this profession with extroverts.
Any vocation that requires perfection, self sacrifice, and creativity is open to Melancholies,But they tend to place self-imposed limitations on their potential by underestimating themselves and exaggerating obstacles.

Temperaments

Distinction between Temperament, Character and Personality.
For years the word Temperaments have been misused and misunderstood, an today i would love us to learn the distinction between Temperament, Character and Personality.Well, believe it or not  your temperament can help you in the type of careers you should choose,i would therefore identify  to you  the various types of temperaments we have and get to help you know which one you are.

Some are Sanguines, others are Phlegmatic, each Temperament have its own strength and weakness and is my job to let you know which one you are.
But before ,getting to know the various types of Temperaments , we would distinguish between Temperament ,.Character and Personality, don't be confuse they are all not the same.

This article would help you know more about Temperaments and where it originate from
What is Temperament?
Temperament is the combination of inborn traits that subconsciously affect all our behavior. These traits, which are passed on by our genes, are based on hereditary factors and are arranged at the time of conception. Six people contribute through the gene pool to makeup of every baby; two parents and four grandparents. The alignment of temperament traits, though unseen, is just as predictable as the color of eyes, hair or the size of the body.
It is a person’s temperament that makes that person outgoing and extrovertish or shy and introvert.
It is temperament that makes some people art or music enthusiasts, while others are sports or industry minded.

Now that you know temperaments are inborn traits let us go further to explain what Character is

Character
what then is Character, you may ask, is your character different from your Temperaments?
Character is the real you.It is the results of the natural temperament modified by childhood training, education and basic attitudes, beliefs, principles, and motivations. It is sometimes referred to as “the soul “ of a person ,which is made up of the mind, emotions and will.Character combines your temperament, training, moral values, beliefs and habit patterns. It is what you do when you have the freedom to do what you want to do,an expression of yourself. To sum it up, it is what you do when there is no one else around
.
If character is what you do when there is no one else around you, what then is your Personality?

Personality
Now the final quest is to define what personality is
Personality is the outward expression of oneself, which may or may not be the same as a person’s character, depending on how genuine that person is. Often personality is a pleasing facade for an unpleasant or weak character. Many are acting a part today on the basis of what they think they should be as a person, rather than what they really are.

In summary, temperament is the combination of traits we were born with; character is our “civilized” temperament and personality is the face we show to others.
Take a journey with me as we explore the Sanguine a very fine Temperament.
